Our Trip to Margate, June 2004

by Hannah R, Holly, Ashlea, Chloe H, Hannah M, Chancel and Rhianna (Year 5)

Day 1

On the way to Margate, we visited Canterbury. In Canterbury Cathedral, we saw a statue of three swords representing the three knights who murdered Thomas Becket.

Here are the three swords in the Cathedral, and Frank hard at work being a stonemason in the Activity Room.

Day 2

Here is a handsome gentleman and a pretty lady at Margate Museum Beach Display, and some of Year 5 enjoying the echoing caves.

Day 3

We went to visit Bleak House in Broadstairs. After our tour we went into the garden. We played with the parachute and had lunch. It was a lot of fun.

After Bleak House, we all went to the beach. We only were allowed into the water up to our knees, but we still got soaked!

The last evening and the last day

On the last evening we did entertaining. Even the teachers joined in. On the last day when we were coming home we went to Eagle Heights Bird of Prey Centre. We saw a bald eagle, a vulture and a falcon.
